Nel Tragico e nell'Umano manifesto, le cui strutture funzionali di rappresentazione,
sensazione e ragionamento coincidono, così come rilevato da Hölderlin, si verifica, a un
certo punto una cesura, un evento che accade e rovescia "l'abituale visione dell'esistente"
che induce alla "pura coscienza di se", la vuota coscienza che attenziona la coscienza
stessa, il vuoto. Il vuoto corrisponde a quella sensazione di essere che ogni umano
sperimenta, che non può essere linguificabile e alla quale la stessa psiche soggiace. Questa
sensazione di presenza è posta come "qui e ora" in maniera esperienziale; a partire da essa
sorge l'attenzione e via via la percezione delle cose. Vuoto è inoltre il significante di
uno stato urbano definito, il significato vuoto, il posto vuoto del significato. Così la
Fiera del Mediterraneo di Palermo, territorio stabile denotato e denotativo, i cui spazi
sono stati chiusi al pubblico per diversi anni e nascosti alla città all'interno di confini
fisici evidenti, è stata vissuta come un "centro vuoto"; la stessa, liberata e restituita,
viene oggi "percepita" come "cesura" urbana.
In the Tragic and Humane manifest, where the functional structures of representation,
feeling and thinking coincide – as Holderlin reveals. At a certain point there is a moment
of caesura: an event that happens and overturns the 'usual vision of the existing' and that
leads to the 'pure consciousness of the self', the vacuous consciousness that attentions the
same consciousness, the vacuum. The vacuum corresponds to that feeling of being that each
human experiments; that cannot be spoken and to which the same psyche is submitted. The
feeling of presence is thought of as 'here and now' in an experiential way; from there, the
attention and lately the perception of things emerges. Vacuum is also the signifier of a
defined urban space; the vacuum significance; the vacuum place of the meaning. In this
manner, the area of the Fiera del Mediterraneo of Palermo is perceived as a 'vacuum space';
a stable territory, denoted and denotative which spaces have been closed to the public for
many years, hidden from the city inside its visible borders. The same area, liberated and
returned, is today 'perceived' as an urban 'caesura'.
